Intentful touch and mindful movement
I use a combination of manual and movement therapy, drawing from a vast range of tools and experience, to create a completely tailored bodywork practice. I have one goal: to improve your body’s well-being. Which is why, after just one session, you will feel more balanced, aligned, and relaxed.
Project Body Mission
Too many of us hold our physical, mental and emotional pain within our bodies, where it slows energy, manifests as tension and can have a damaging impact on our health.
Whether you have an injury (or are recovering from one), are training for a sports event, are expecting (or just had) a baby, experience aches and pains from postural habits, keep having these stubborn old recurring niggles, can’t seem to muster energy, or simply just want to relax and give back to yourself ... Project Body is here to help you.
With a foundation in manual and movement therapy, I work towards long term benefits, to bring you and your body back into balance. As a Remedial Massage Therapist and Certified Myofascial Release Therapist my focus, interest and passion lies in Myofascial Release Therapy. Along with manual bodywork, I combine and blend various forms of movement; Pilates, Yoga and Self-Myofascial Release. Together we will find tools and ways for you to create your own practice that fits you and serves the projects of your body.
What is Myofascial Release Therapy?
Myofascial Release (MFR) Therapy is a safe and highly effective form of soft tissue hands-on manipulation that releases restrictions in the fascia (a layer of dense connective tissue, that wraps around and permeates our entire body, like a full-body wetsuit) to eliminate discomfort and to restore motion. Pulling patterns (of compression, compensation, postural distortion, muscular tension, scar tissue, adhesions, etc.) are created in the fascia based on each client’s unique life experiences. My manual therapy sessions are based on each individual’s body projects. I connect in with their tissue to truly understand what is going on for them and what will help them get better by unravelling restrictions to allow the body to spring back to a more open and balanced way of being.
“Her greatest gift is her hands and their sensitivity to the tissue. Her touch is perfect - gentle, specific, sensing, exploring and engaging. This coupled with her movement knowledge allows her to change how the body functions on a profound level. I highly recommend Elisa to help you get back on track with life”
